Leave Your Camera At Home!!!!

That's right!

We'd rather visit with you than look at your lens!

Jeff Foltz, Bob's brother will be with us throughout the reunion snapping photos, and if you let him do the job, you can actually be in the pictures...   proof positive that you still know how to have fun, and have friends who love you after all these years!

Herbie Way recommended Jeff to us as he does a fine job for the Mardi Gras Krewe Herbie rolls with.  If he can capture that group, we should be easy!  The CDs will be available for $40, or perhaps less, if enough are ordered, so please consider purchasing one.  Jeff is not charging us a "site" fee, so his services are a bargain for the "Nun Fund!"

And while we're talking about Foltz's...   Bob has joined the Walker Automotive group and will be very glad to sell you your next Mercedes and/or BMW.  He's planning to move back to Alex if y'all make it worth his while!    And that note, Barry Gremillion is planning to move home, too.

Have a great weekend and we'll see you soon!

Sunday Mass... A Celebration of Life

Whether you're registered for the Reunion or not, please join us Sunday morning, October 7, for Mass at 10 am in the Bistro on the Bayou.   It promises to be a wonderful liturgy with Msgr Hoppe presiding, Rosie Randall Williams leading us in song, and Sister Ann Petrus speaking about our classmates that have gone before us.    Phil Lemoine is coordinating the event for us and Frances Ward Johanson has prepared a visual Memorial.

If you know any family members that might want to join us, please do let them know they are more than welcome to do so.

Homecoming Float... Details!

This just in from Ginger Thiels who is coordinating our participation in Menard's Homecoming Parade with Paul Dupuis.

Friday, October 5, 2012:  Menard Homecoming Parade Details

  • Be at the Coliseum parking lot no later than 7:30 a.m. to decorate our float.  If you have any cans of bright colored spray paint, bring them.
  • If you want to meet for breakfast beforehand, Ginger will be at Brocato's around 6:00 am.   Brocato's is located 5803 H Coliseum Blvd. at the opposite end of the strip mall from "Beef  O'Brady's."
  • Floats must be decorated and in the Menard parking lot by 11:00 a.m.  Ours will be the last in line.
  • Those who wish to ride in the float should plan to wear something tie-dyed.
  • There will be a PEP RALLY in the Menard gym at noon.   We are welcome to attend and should sit in the guest section.  Those riding in the float should wear their tie-dyed shirts.   If you are not riding and would like to wear your Reunion T-shirt at the pep rally, Sheila will make them available at the Coliseum parking lot at 10:30 a.m. (and again at 5 p.m. at the Alumni Center, and then when we gather Saturday).
  •  The parade route is as follows:
    • Begin at the Menard Parking Lot
    • Right on Coliseum Blvd.
    • Right on Heyman Lane
    • Right on Wakefield Blvd
    • Right on Windemere Blvd
    • Left on Coliseum Blvd to return to Menard Student Parking Lot and Disban

Details and Neato Stuff!!!

Well, the time is getting close, very close and I am most excited!!!   I have a few new things to share with you...
  • Gene Baker has finally registered!  Now if we can get Rodney Ceasar on board, there's a chance of a skit!
  • The LSU-Florida game, which we are gathering to watch on Saturday, has yet to be scheduled.  So here's the plan...   Come to the Bistro at game time or at 4 p.m., whichever is earlier.
§  The Bistro will provide munchies during the game, and our buffet will open at 4 p.m.
§  If the game is early and you get REALLY hungry before the buffet, the Bistro will have a very limited menu from which you may order.
  •  The menu looks great!   All kinds of Louisiana type food for those of you who miss home!  Soft drinks are included, and adult beverages are available at a cash bar!
  • We're going to have music!    H. B. Smith, proficient on both guitar and bass, will be there to play tunes from the late 60's and early '70's.   He's a beloved fixture on the Central Louisiana music scene, and in demand for both musical and theatrical events. And yes, he can play Bobby's guitar, so you'll get a chance to hear what you're bidding on!
  • For an awesome sneak preview of the guitar check this out!  Talk about a test-drive!   http://vimeo.com/48667809/   The handsome young man playing is Eric Johanson, Frances Ward Johanson's son.    He's been playing with various Nevilles and most recently has been on tour with Grammy Award-winning Zydeco artist, Terrance Simien.
  • By the by, Ronnie Caesar has agreed to be our auctioneer...   That should be a load of fun!    And it looks like there are a few local musicians who want to come in and bid on the guitar...   Hooray!    Also, Mike Blalock will handle our silent auction.   If you have anything to donate for it, please let me know soon.
  • Just so you know...    Parc England Hotel is picking up half the bill for our music, and we have a donor for the other half, so we'll not be cutting into the Nun Fund, as Mike Conolly calls it!   The Hotel is also donating dinner for two for our silent auction, so if you haven't made reservations yet, please consider using them!
  • Speaking of money...  for those who might be interested, I would be happy to make a full financial disclosure available to you when the reunion is over.   While I have been depositing your checks, Ted Powell and Herbie Way have authorized all expenditures, and Ted does the check-writing.
